AHIMA CONVENTION HOUSING BUYERS BEWARE!

Please be aware that there are unscrupulous and unauthorized companies known as "housing pirates" that have been contacting meeting attendees and exhibitors and intentionally misleading them into believing they are authorized/official housing contacts. We have found them using multiple identities, with varied business names/licenses, making it difficult to contact or track them. Others are untraceable as valid businesses.

AHIMA wants your experience attending the AHIMA convention to be as pleasant as possible. Please remember that MCI USA is the only official housing bureau for AHIMA Convention. No other company is authorized to handle AHIMA housing. If you should be approached by any other company, please forward as much information as possible to Kelli Wondra, Exhibits Manager, at kelli.wondra@ahima.org or 312-233-1101. MCI USA is obligated to provide you with the high level of service and support we want for you. AHIMA is here to support efforts to make things right, if they fail in that effort.

Please know that AHIMA staff is constantly working with our local convention bureaus and hotel contacts to protect our attendees and exhibitors. We have been warned about numerous incidents with unauthorized companies not only misrepresenting themselves but misrepresenting the properties, hiding their identities, and some even going so far as taking customer payments and providing fake reservations. Other meeting professionals have provided horror stories of attendees being placed in hotels far off the shuttle routes, miles from the convention site, and in some cases left stranded without rooms or even recourse for refund.

We have some wonderful new things going on for 2018. We want your participation as exhibitors to be as rewarding and worry free as possible. If you have any problems or concerns, please let us know and we will gladly work with you to help.
